Hong Kong Marathon 2026 took place on last Sunday (January 18), attracting around 74 000 runners. The full marathon kicked off in Tsim Sha Tsui and finished at Victoria Park. Bizuneh Melaku Belachew from Ethiopia won the men's race, while Bahrain's Habtegebrel Eshete H. Habte triumphed in the women's category. The event also included a half marathon, a 10km run and a 10km wheelchair race. A new "Youth Run", for young runners aged between 10 and 15, was held at Kai Tak Sports Park on January 17. The marathon - Hong Kong's largest participatory sporting event - boosts Hong Kong's position as a major international sports hub.
